D-R-Aime?

... and other observations
What is DRAime? It's a blog that talks about D, R and ...M! I know what the D stands for, I know what the R stands for, but I have yet to understand what the M is for.
Management? Mismanagement? Misery? Mystery? All bets are on!
(For those who don't know, Aime, in french, is pronounced M and means to like - which gives us DRM)

Supreme court refused to hear the Lexmark case...

This came out a while back, but I thought it kind of relates to a potential future topic:
Supreme courts rejects Lexmark's petition
I find this interesting because of what is brewing at Apple. Some reports have indicated or speculated that one way Apple plans to prevent people from running will be by enforcing the software to only run on specific hardware. That limitation would be purely artificial, and would most likely be protected by some kind of encryption. And anyone who says encryption to protect something usually means DMCA, etc.

I think it will be interesting to see how all this evolves. While some people love Apple and think that compared to other giants (read: Microsoft) they are angels, I think they are really good at trying to protect their turf. This might be a big fight, because this might pit a lot of people that are fans of open source and interop technologies against Apple.
